The Coromandel is about 2 hours drive from Auckland and is a very popular holiday destination for Aucklanders.

The peninsula has many sheltered beaches, picnic areas and camping sites and gets very busy during the holiday season. We visited around Christmas time and there we lots of families taking their vacations.
